5.1 Vertical Work Holding

Complete newbie here.

I am trying to figure out how to use vertical work holding. I see a pic that shows the wood being clamped to the front on the spoilboard (cool), but my gantry won’t move past the front edge of the spoilboard to cut into anything in front. What am I missing? Forgot to mention I have a 5.1 Pro 2x4 with the CC provided table.

You need to do a ‘Gantry Shift’. The X Gantry can be moved forward on the Y supports, and then it will be able to operate beyond the front edge.

Unfortunately, the 5.1 Assembly manual says “See Gantry Shift at the end of the manual”, and then there’s nothing.

OK, I found a reference and also looked at what is posted in the link above. One reference just says that there are 4 bolts to unscrew and then screw in (after gantry shift). The link above has 20 (?) steps? Which is accurate?

OK, I just successfully completed a gantry shift on my shapeoko 5.1 pro. The instructions above were great except for setting the new location for the bitsetter. In the Carbide Motion version 655, this had to be done by re-setting up the machine entirely
