We recommend only 2M (6.6ft.) or less.
Some folks have been successful using an active-repeater cable or interposing a powered USB hub, but that’s not supported.
I’m using the 10 without (so far) any issue but I do have it sitting within the 6ft range 
On my old S3 I used an Amazon basics USB AB cable:
