Can anyone tell me which version of the 60° V-Bit comes in the Shapeoko Start Bit set? Is there a difference in cutting profile between the #302 and #302E, or is it only the country of origin?
I’ve cut an inlay pocket in a project with the starter kit bit, but I believe the bit is now dull and is causing parts of the inlay plug to get torn out while cutting. I want to order a replacement bit, but need it to match the bit I cut the pocket with.
Same profile. Origin is the key difference, as you note. Although specs are the same I suspect longevity and overall quality is generally going to be better with the US version. In any case - they are interchangeable. I believe the E comes with the essentials kit.
Consider learning to sharpen them.
For the cost of a new bit, you can buy a diamond stone. And those are the easiest bits to sharpen.

I actually have my step-dad trying to re-sharpen it. He does all kinds of sharpening. IN the mean time, I want to order another one so I can get this job done.
