A chess piece I actually want to make

This is something which I want to do:

The animations, as well as the engineering, are impressive.

This has been in my to-watch list for awhile. Considering it’s worth a post from you, I’ll have to make the time :writing_hand:

Given my username, I’ll need to make some chess related things eventually

Wow! Amazing to say the least, Very bright young man there.

Thanks for sharing this with us Will. I can’t wait to see your results. I think I’m going to work something out as a project to make with my oldest son who is into 3D printing more intricate designs.

Unfortunately, this has to be at the bottom of the current (over-flowing) to-do list.

I’ve fancy making chess pieces with each piece representing a member of the family. As I’m not a good digital sculpter I will need a 3d scanner, Christmas present?

I also have a fancy to model and make boxes that look like various well known chocolate bars. But I need to improve my digital sculpting or my viscous fluid simulations or hope for AI to give me a lift.

I can just see the scenario now while playing with my grandson …

Grandson: Hey, Gramps! Look over there! :index_pointing_at_the_viewer:

Gramps: Where’d that Queen come from?

Very cool from a mechanical aspect but silly for chess. A queen or knight option is all that’s needed. The queen can do everything a bishop or rook can do, in fact that’s how its mobility is defined.
