Hi All,
I am not sure anybody else experienced this but it happened to me a couple of times with Carbide Motion.
I’ve lost a lot of time but material too.
A certain situation made me hit the stop button before the job finished. Regardless the reasons,
how can you continue or re-start the cutting ( rough or finish ) from the point you rectified the problem or just from beginning ?
Finding the 0 point is not necessary reliable.
Appreciate help
Adrian
I have never used it… But there is a restart if you know which line of code you stopped at. This in later versions of Carbide Motion
I’ve done the same. The zeros should be the same as long as you leave your part alone (if you unclamp/tape it then all bets are off). When I have to do an emergency stop, I then load my G-Code into https://ncviewer.com/ and step through the code to get my rough position. Then, when you restart in CM, you can tell it to start from that line number. You may end up repeating some of the cuts through thin air, but it’s better than starting from the beginning.
I did this on a 3-D carve of Mt. Rainier in 2" thick birch when I realized I was going to carve through a clamp. I could not tell where it stopped and then started again.
