I am cutting some dados and the dimension that I set in design ends up cutting .0060 less in actual cut. I updated steps in GRBL and that is spot on. Not sure why the width in design is not exactly cut?? Any help would be appreciated.
What tool are you using? What material are you cutting? With what sort of toolpath? Is it possible that this is caused by tool deflection?
When you adjusted steps in Grbl, how did you ensure that the adjustment was not influenced by tool deflection/that the adjustment was done to the center of the tool?
I’m using 1/4” bit cutting dept .250”, .100” step over and .100” dept of cut. GRBl was set using a 60 degree V bit cut to .125”
I made another adjustment to Grbl on my X axis and the dado cut is more accurate now.
