I have done a few 5”x7” acrylic drag bit and built bases for edge lighting them. They were 1/4” thick. The bases I built for the 5x7 just have a slot on top that the acrylic slips into. They turned out nice.
I would like to make larger ones now. Like 12x12 or 20x24 and even larger ones.
What have others done for these edge lighting projects? How thick acrylic? How large? How are the bases constructed? Do you only edge light from the bottom or from top and sides? Bottom and sides or top at the same time?
Any info on this would be very helpful.
