Simple rare earth small magnet attached to my alligator clip. Thanks for any thoughts

I removed my alligator clip and replaced it with a magnet. No problems so far ( many months of daily use). I like the peace of mind if somehow I start the router with it still attached.

Sounds like a good idea. My clip slips off the bit many times. It is the electrical continuity that makes the probe work so as long as the magnet conducts it should work.

Yes, I made sure the magnet was in place and glued around it. So far it has worked flawlessly.
