Adding Dogbones to Imported Shapes

I can seem to find a way (CCPro) to add Dogbones to an imported shape.

Much of my initial work is done in a 3D CAD package (for 3D Printing) which I then would like to import into CCPRO. All the shapes are getting imported properly but I see no way to add dogbones in some critical corners (for fitment). As 3DPrinting is additive, and CNC carving is subtractive, the paths need to change a bit.

I’m hoping I don’t have to generate two different 2D CAD Layout files for the same project (3DPrinting vs Carving). Some of these are fairly complex shapes - and I don’t think it should be necessary to pre-define my desired architecture based on a specific carving bit…

Seems we should just be able to click on a corner and ask for it to be “dog-boned”…

Dogbones and other corner features only work for rectangles created as such in Carbide Create.

For that, you will need a full parametric CAD/CAM program.

What were the designs created in originally?

Are you inclined to do programming?

Could you post an example project or a link to it?

Just a thought but you could draw circles the size of the dog bones you need and then do a boolean to get the dog bones incorporated into your svg.

I don’t know which CAD package you’re using aside from CC, but if you can tolerate Fusion 360 I would recommend trying this plugin, nifty dogbone. It works well enough and speeds up the process of adding dogbones. Isn’t terribly expensive, but it isn’t free.
