Hi!
I am scratching the surface of an idea, but in short I’d like to add a nema motor to act like a “second” spindle for extruding materials.
How could I achieve that? I tried to look at rotary tool addons but did not find much.
In Short, to make programming simple, I want to use a nema motor for a pump. Using this as a “spindle” would allow to easily control extrusion via “rpm” controls in fusion.
I use the carbide board. But my machine is on rails and upgraded spindle.
Thanks!
Not exactly sure what you’re talking about…
For addons search for “4th axis” “rotary table”
If you’re extruding filament, search for “3D Printing addon”
Carbide board doesn’t have support for 4th axis, so you have to share or replace one axis (Usually Y) with the new 4th axis, then program the jobs accordingly.
Or are you only sharing the spindle? i.e. using the XYZ of the machine but with a different head.
In that case you would just need to move the spindle cable to the new axis.
