I have a shapeoko pro 4 and was thinking about putting a spindle and VFD on my machine I live in Canada, and after the tariffs and duty, the carbide create spindle is quite expensive. I was wondering if anybody’s had any luck with the kits they sell on Amazon or elsewhere?

I purchased one from Amazon. VFD CNC Spindle Motor Kits：220V 2.2KW CNC VFD+220V 2.2KW 4bearings 400hz 24000rpm Φ80mm Water Cooled Spindle Motor+220V 75W Water Pump+80mm Motor Clamp Mount+5m Water Pipe. HY HUANYANG.
So far I am very happy with the spindle. The only issue is the water pump they give you. The pump says it is 220 volts. However, it has a 110 plug on it. I tried the 110 and it did not work. I then cut off the 110 plug and wired it 220 and it works great. I am new to cnc routers and have nothing to compare this spindle too. I do not have the spindle/VFD connected to my control box. I operate the spindle/VFD manually. It is amazing how quiet the spindle is.

Have you looked at robotshop.com? I bought my machine and various other stuff from them. They are an authorized Canadian retailler for C3D. Ships from Qc so no duties

Thanks for the tip Jeff I went onto their website and it is good because the price you see is the price you pay $1200 is a big difference from the $500 to get something similar on Amazon. I know I will have to do some of the wiring myself and programming.
