Has the bug that caused it to go full depth along the profile before stepping over on narrow pockets been resolved? When that was there it rendered the strategy you suggest pointless.
Could the problem have been related to what you posted here?
If the cutter-width slot had been done before the offset happened, I’d be inclined to agree. However, the outside cut at cutter width is the last operation and the offset happened after the first tool path (a point roundover).
Since I’d cut the single-item version after the “jam”, and the machine had been completely powered down at least a couple of time and initialized upon power up, I doubt it.
