Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what might be causing my trouble with double sided machining.
I have followed guidance in these videos:
No matter what I do, I always seems to be a few millimeters off on the X axis. You can see a small lip here on the left/right side of a hole I made in some foam. I’ve created a fence and faced it to square, and I use the same origin after I flip. It feels like it must be a mechanical issue but I just don’t know. Maybe someone here has some ideas?
Did you machine the profile of that test block? So you know the exact measurement matches your design?
If you’re flipping the same way Kevin did, Even though you don’t change your zero point after the flip, you are not using the SAME physical J-corner (registration point) on the job. You are actually using the adjacent corner, and on the opposite side of the material. 1st - Blue, Flip - Red
