Another router option for 65mm

In the shop today using my Masterforce compact router from Menards. I just finished using it and was waiting for it to stop before setting it down. Noticed how much it looks like the Carbide compact router. Wouldn’t you know it everything specs out the same as the Carbide with some minor differences.

Same:

65MM
12ft power cord
1-1/4 HP
1/4 collet
Same tools

Differences / bonus:

3/8 collet include (good luck finding 3/8 router bits)
Backlit LCD screen with a digital RPM readout for accurate and consistent adjustment
Dial is different speeds.

Does it have electronic speed control to maintain the speed under load?

There are a lot of these units (e.g., the MLCS Rocky 30) and whether or no they have this feature has been a bit contentious.

Per the website.

  • Electronic Speed Control monitors and maintains speed under load for consistent performance.

Which I would agree that it does this from personal router t-track slots.

I forgot to mention it does have 2 LED lights at the bit. Not what I would call bright. The LEDs are on as long as the tool is plugged in. Meaning not controlled by the power switch.
