I am going to mount my VFD and controller under my table i would like it to be in a cabinet or enclosed. Would i need to mount fans that will move air in and out of the enclosure.
It would not hurt and fans are cheap. Just make sure you have an entrance and exit for the air. Hopefully on opposite sides of the enclosure.
There are thousands of VFD controllers that work in hot environments like in industrial shops. So it might be necessary but at the cost of a VFD it would not hurt anything. The trick is getting a relay to turn on the fan when the VFD controller is energized. If you just put in an on/off switch you have to remember to turn it on as well as off.
