vcarve|405x500
I know this is a tall order for a bright, durable, exterior gold paint, but I hope to use it on painted
v-carved plaques to achieve a quality two-color plaque like the attached. I have tried various masking materials with limited success so I am “thinking” wiping water-based paint off the surface of a painted plaque might work better? Any suggestions please… thanks!
Don
I have used Easy Liner Adhesive Shelf Paper successfully on simple vcarve projects. The more complicated or cross grain the cut the worse the result. I ordered Oramask 813 but have not used it yet. The shelf paper gets frayed on cross grain cut pretty bad.
Thank you for your response. I have pretty much the same results with shelf paper, especially with oil based paint. I am looking now for a good water-based, gold paint that may wipe off cleanly without a mask.
Don - I’ve read on these forums that a lot of folks seal the material before masking with either the final paint color coat or a sanding sealer and the feedback is that they are pretty happy with the results as it helps limit the bleeding problem.
What font did you use on your house sign example? Looks really nice with the V-carve.
