I am one step closer to getting the Shapeoko 5 Pro.
I have my table built. I am nervous about making the purchase.
The reason I am nervous is because last August I purchased a CNC from another company that I will not mention.
I have had nothing but problems with that machine since I got it. It has stopped in the middle of a project, giving me errors, or bound up. The company has emailed me back for the last seven months telling me different things to try and test. I still cannot run a project to completion. I am fed up with that machine and that company. Right now, the machine is pretty much a $3,349.98 boat anchor. This is why I am nervous about spending another $5,000 on another CNC.
I am hoping that there is someone in Southern Maine that I can get together with before I make my purchase.
No where near you, I have the 5 Pro 4x4, 65mm spindle. Did allot of research and I have not regretted it. Assembled the machine, had a bad proximity switch. Swapped it out with the spare that was shipped with it. Emailed support and had the new spare in a couple of days. Cutting ever since.
Don’t forget the “60 days on us” mistake policy. You should be up and running quickly, especially since you are familiar with CNC’ing.
Hi. I am on the South Shore of Boston with a Shapeoko 5. Just upgraded from the Shapeoko 4 and would be happy to give you a demo/walkthrough. Let me know if you want to connect.
Hi Rick,
I have a 5 Pro and it is a Solid machine! Also Carbide is a Solid Co. with Killer tech support. I would be Shocked if you were unhappy with it.
