So all of a sudden I reset my x y to a new point and now when I lay a file out, it’s completely missing the wood by about 2 inches?
Usually when I do that it is because I set the start location on CC and zeroed to another spot OR I forgot to save the file after I changed it.
Good luck
I’m not sure what start start location is?
I had the machine show me where It has x and y and it hit’s perfect the lower left corner and I do have my home point set to Lower left corner.
The simulation shows the piece cutting properly.
But when I hit start it starts cutting about 3” off towards the middle of the machine.
Also this file is the inlay side of an inlay set. And all I did was delete parts from pocket side and re-save the file as inlay. The pocket cut perfectly and I changed nothing other than drawing a box and flip the image. So ther is no way that I can see for this to happen!
Start location should equal where the origin is set in the file.
Please review:
So is star location the same as home point?
I can no longer even get my machine to hit the piece of wood. I’m putting down I’m at a complete loss. I’ve never had this happen in the two or three months. I’ve been using the machine.
Origin is set in two ways:
- the XY location (indicated by the red origin mark in the drawing area)
- Z-axis location — Top or Bottom (indicated by the menu entry in Job Setup)
Please post your .c2d file, step-by-step notes on how you are securing your stock and setting zero relative to it and managing all tool changes and a photo showing an attempt at cutting still in place on your machine.
Can a file be corrupted in someway?
I just made an exact copy of that file from scratch and everything came out fine.
I did not literally copy the file. I actually remade the file to the best of my knowledge. It’s exactly the same and now it’s cutting properly.
Post both files and we will compare them with you.
Well I think I should clear my head. I just saved over the file I was trying to post!!
So sorry everyone……
I have cut some new files from scratch and so far have had no problems.
