Hi,
Does anyone have experience routing Cold Rolled Carbon Steel Sheet?
I have a Shapeoko 5 Pro with a VFD. What I would like to do is route out a profile in .024" [0.61mm] thick Cold Rolled Carbon Steel Sheet to make a flat pattern for forming.
I have routed aluminum but not any steel.
Does anyone, if you have done this, could post your tool/CNC specifications; e.g. Feed speeds, Depth of Cut, Tool RPM … etc. and any tool bits you used.
Those measurements don’t jibe, first off. Secondly, a plasma table would be a more appropriate tool for steel. If aluminum would work, use it on hour 5 pro
I think you could do it. Run a small end mill maybe 3/32 or 1/16. You need your surface speed to be low so with. Lower limit on rpm being quite high you need to use small tools.
