Ask me if I want to close the software

When I close Carbide Motion I would like to see a popup that says, “Are you sure you want to close?” and I can hit yes or no. It could be toggleable, I just want a option to double check I want to close the program because sometimes I exit and have to initialize and zero all over again when I just meant to minimize.

That’s interesting. I didn’t think you had to re-zero or reinitialize if you closed CM as long as you didn’t manually move the gantry or stock positioning. Very possible I’m wrong but I thought I’ve closed CM in error and didn’t have to do that.

Yeah, at first I didn’t think I would have to either, but when I opened it back up I had to initialize and zero it again. Really annoying because I was getting ready to start a job and had to do it all over again.

Had you even started CM before you closed it down? If not, maybe that’s the difference from what I’ve experienced. I had already run a job and was getting ready to run a second.

You have to initialize, but the machine will still have its zeros. CM might say you need to set zero, but you can ignore that warning.

To double check, use the Rapid Position commands to move to the current X-Y.
