We’ve found that old topics, when responded to long after their creation (necro-posting) creates a distorted representation which is not helpful — it’s almost always best to start fresh from a current take on the situation as it is.

Search can work well, and if one can’t find what one is looking for, just ask — we’ll either find one or more relevant posts, or research it with you.
If there is truly a need to re-open an existing topic ask and we can look into that, but ideally, the trajectory would always be forward, and it’s usually best just to include a link to the previous discussion to frame the new one.
