Inlays vee carve inlay this is why I bought this machine but after months of trying i still cant get the fit i look for. Using plug in lay mode they are just loose. i can pocket .18 and plug .16 with .020 top gap and loose as a goose. I am at the point now of guessing. I am currently trying to offset the plug outside .002 to see if my walls get wider thus giving me a better fit.
ok .002 was not enough going to .003 offset
ok .003 i get drop in but no wiggle trying another .0005 to see where that gets me. I know i will never achieve perfect but trying to get close.
We have a couple of videos on this:
Start with confirming that your machine is in good electro-mechanical condition?
Try a simple test cut? (posting the file)
Uploading photos showing how each step of the operation has turned out?

Reducing the plug depth & increasing the top gap by the same amount will achieve the same as offsetting the vector. Try Plug depth 0.100 & Top Gap 0.080, then fit & measure the gap. Adjust to get the gap back to the 0.020" you were looking for.
