Bit setter already detected as closed brand new machine

Did I miss something? I went to run my very first job on my new HDM and it says bit setter already detected as closed when I go to install the tool. The red led is on the bit setter, it goes yellow when you depress it. I assume it’s plugged in.

Thank you.

This is not encouraging. I plugged and unplugged the bit-setter and now it goes green when you press it and the tool was able to be installed. five minutes later while I’m looking for the file I want to cut the hdm clicks, reboots maybe and disconnects from software. It’s on a dedicated 20A line. I hope this is not how reliable these are.

Will do. It ran, did a decent job. But I’m disappointed in the HDM build quality so far. While it was running I noticed loose and missing screws for example.

Do you have a bitzero also? If so make sure the bitzero is not touching ground as you have stored it (the wire or other source of ground). Apparently, it uses the same controller input as Bitsetter.
I made a storage block for the bitzero with a screw to keep the ground and bitzero apart.(There was a thread that I posted in that was a discussion of storage for the bitzero recently–just not sure how to search for it while drafting a reply)

Found it.
Here is the link to how I store the bitzero

The thread has other solutions to storage that keeps the parts separated.

Thank you, I did not buy one of these yet though.
