No green light. One day it worked, then it didnt. Any diag for this, or it it just shot? All hooked up fine.
Do you also have a BitSetter?
Try swapping the connections?
Post a photo showing how things are connected?
This is my model. Machine it setting just how it has going on 5 years. I did move it for the pic. Surely couldn’t have come loose after all this time…
Remove the cover to the enclosure and send us a clear, well-lit, edge-to-edge, in-focus picture?
The idea I had was that if you had Proximity switches you could swap the BitZero connector onto the PCB Expansion Adapter — in the absence of that there isn’t really any additional testing which can be easily done unless you or a friend know electronics and have a multimeter and a way to provide current to it.
It’s either the homing switch in the BitZero or the controller, and without an easy way to swap/test with a known working unit it’s not really feasible to do so.
I am an auto tech going on 40 years, so Id like to think I know my way around auto electronics. But unsure of what I`m looking for in this situation. I dont have a problem with upgrading to a Bitsetter. Not really wanting to spend the money to find out its something in my control board.
Have you tried a simple wiggle test?
With the BitZero close enough where you can keep an eye on the LED, power on the machine. Then, lightly wiggle and twist the wires at the plug where it connects to the PCB. Hopefully you’ll see the LED light up.
If it actually turns out the to be the BitZero itself I have one laying around that I would be happy to send for the cost of shipping. I switched to the V2 some time back and the other is collecting dust.
That sounds like a deal! How can i pay you?
Send me a DM with your address and I can check on the shipping. We can then do PayPal or Venmo. Or, if you have a UPS account you can set up the whole thing and send me the label to print.
Do you want to make sure its not a controller problem first though?
Which machine do you have? Mine was on the Pro (not 5 Pro). I don’t know if the connector is different on earlier machines. I can take a pic.
Ill b e in the shop in after while
Ill take a pic of mine. Miy machine is a xxl3
Here is the one I have with the connector.
I also have some adapter that I have no idea what it’s for pictured below. It’s been in a box since I got the machine but looks like it will fit the connector on the BitZero.
Well dont i feel silly… I checked continuity from the plug to the base. One wire was open. I tracked down a very small idk, smashed portion of my lead. Some minor surgery, and voila! Green light. I do thank all who helped me. But typical me, i went straight to worst cas scenario. Easy fix, with a long windy path.
