Bitrunner v2 on older xxl 3 machine

Is there anyway a v2 bitrunner can be made to work on a xxl 3 that was bought in Dec 2018 without adding a new control board and cover?

If it has the BitRunner connector, you’re good.

No connector that was why I was asking

Some folks have sourced the connector and soldered it themselves.

Otherwise, replacing the controller is necessary.
