I have a Shapeoko 3XL that I did the first proper cuts on last night.
I am using the BitZero and BitSetter.
I probed the full corner using the reference pin, the machine then measured the length with the BitSetter.
Then installed the first bit when requested which was measured on the BitSetter and worked great.
I then installed the second bit but didn’t realise that it was sticking out slightly to long so when it moved over to the BitSetter it crashed onto the button.
Luckily nothing broke but this has now become a learning exercise.
I didn’t have chance to do anymore testing and I wont be back in front of the machine for a few days so though I would ask some questions here.
When the gantry moves to the front for a tool change does the Z axis raise to the same height each time or does it use you retraction height?
I am using Carbide Motion 635 on a Raspberry Pi if that is of any relevance to this.
Thanks.
