So I tripped over the wire on my Bitsetter and yanked the wires out of the connector. I got it open but, without undue force, don’t seem to be able to get the connectors out. I’m guessing they are crimp connectors and probably shouldn’t or couldn’t be reused anyway.
Can anyone provide a part number for this connector? And then confirmation of which wire goes to which terminal? (I’m guessing that when I find them I’ll probably have to buy 100, so trial and error will probably ultimately work)
If you can find the actual part name/description/size, Digikey has most of these available which you can order individually or in small quantity - they usually have links to the associated crimp pins as well. The hard part is actually finding the right one in their extensive catalog.
Yes, the specific crimping tools are pricey…But not entirely necessary. It is possible to crimp the pins onto the wires with a more generic crimp tool or even fine needle-nose pliers - just takes a lot more care & delicate handling. So might be worth attempting for 3 connections, depends on your level of expertise & how much effort you want to put into it.
Alternatively, one could try to carefully solder the wires to the back end of the pins - have to be careful to use just enough to tack the wires on without the solder flowing into the rest of the pin.
