Bitzero probe error PRB002

I am getting an issue with the bit zero. Have had it for several months and has been working flawlessly. Recently the wire was pulled out of the housing where it connects to the shapeoko in the front. I reattached the wires and when I went to use it I am now getting the following error code:
PRB002: The probe was closed prior to movement.
please start the probing cycle with the spindle further from the probe.

I have not been changing how I use it. I place the pin in the center of the bit zero opening and then hit probe and the message appears.

Any help would be appreciated.

Contact support and we’ll work out how to handle this.

Did you ever get an answer? I’m having the same issue with my brand-new 5 Pro

Probably the answer requires working with the folks at support@carbide3d.com

Hello
Did you manage to sort the issue. My Shapeoko Pro just started doing this to me today.
I haven’t had the time to have a better look.
Thanks

I had to call support. They were extremely helpful. They are sending me a replacement.

Hello Sawdust28

I have just contacted tech support. Are they sending you a new bit zero or was it something else causing the issue. I have used two different bit zero’s and i am getting the same issue .
Hopefully i will get a response soon.

My issue was that the wire disconnected from the housing. Despite trying to fix it I still was getting the error code. They decided to send me a replacement but I have not gotten yet. So I don’t know if this has fixed the problem.

Hello All

Carbide Technical team got back to me. it looks like the problem with my bit zero not working was actually by bit zero cable comign loose. I followed their advise and everthing worked.
I work on alot of equipment in my day job and i will have to give credit when its due. Carbide do have a good support team helping with the technical faults.
