For X& Y probing using the BitZero V2 I see that a bore is used on the corner of the BitZero block. Is it possible to have an embedded drill bushing on a fixture and use that to set X& Y zero instead of the bore on the block? Assuming the same diameter bore is incorporated into said fixture.
You would need to connect such a bore electrically the same way the body of the BZ is connected.
That should be simple enough to do in theory, maybe a bronze bushing would be better to use as I can just solder a lead to the OD that jumps into the harness then. Thanks!
The bore itself doesn’t have to be exactly the same size as on the BZ, anything close and circular would do.
CM detects the position each side, then zero point is just the average. It’s why you don’t need to know the bit diameter on the BZ V2.
I will note that so long as the hole is not so large that the probe operation times out, one can probe the center of a hole in any conductive material by putting the BitZero upside down on the the edge of the material (or otherwise connecting one to the other).
