The wood for these is from a eucalyptus tree that my neighbor had cut down a couple of years ago and I had milled into Lumber.

Thanks John! It’s actually White Gum Eucalyptus, though I don’t know the specific variety. I planked several trees that the neighbor had had cut down and have been letting it dry for a couple of years. The thicker pieces are almost to the point of being usable. It’s a beautiful and heavy hardwood. So hard in fact that when it’s dry you (well I) can’t drive a nail through it and it must be predrilled!
