BUG - narrow pockets cut "depth first"

When cutting a narrow pocket, i.e. those used to limit full engagement when contouring,
The toolpath cuts a full depth slot first, rather than cutting both passes at the same level.

To duplicate, make a shape. Offset 1.5 x cutter dia & program a pocket with depth of cut less than max depth. If you can’t duplicate it, I can provide parts.

I’m sure this has been reported, but didn’t seem to have it’s own topic. If it does, feel free to merge this post if that’s possible. Or point me to the topic & I’ll add to it.

This was supposed to be fixed in 747:

  • (FIX) Case where a think pocket turned into two slotting operations.

If you have a file where it isn’t fixed, upload it here and we’ll add it to our test suite and see if it can be fixed in a future version.

In my experience it worked with a 10% buffer on the pocket but not when it was much more than that.
