So I needed to put a very fine chamfer on a brass piece, and it needs to be done on both sides so it’s a flip. The chamfer is around 0.3mm. I couldn’t get an accurate XYZ so I built a little probe .
It’s just 9v, magnet, some leads, a resistor, and an LED, around $10. I use the 0.025mm jog (wish I had 0.01mm jog) . I used a 3d printer to make a little case for it. It seems accurate to at least 0.025mm.
It would be interesting to see a picture of your creation.
It this a standalone probe then - ie no connection to the pro at all, LED comes on with completed circuit.
