When using Carbide Motion (build 578 on my Raspberry Pi 4) with the jog set to “Fast” the keyboard controls cause constant hangs with BUSY on the screen. If I use the buttons in the software everything moves smoothly as expected.
This is basically ruining my use of the mini wireless keyboard I intended to use.
What gives?

I had the exact same issue using the TechKeys board. I played around with the keyboard repeat rate on the PI and it got better but not great.
It seems better in the X than the Y or Z. And often I have to change the speed and change it back to “wake up” one axis.
It is annoying that the keyboard doesn’t work correctly but the touch screen does.
I have not tried the latest CM release to see if it is better.
I have the issue with every keyboard. The mini wireless keyboard. A USB keyboard. With my laptop keyboard if I connect over VNC.

I have not tried the windows version but when you do the PI build can you look into the key buffer?
I am using the TechKeys board and it seems to overload CM when holding down any axis move key for a bit. Sometimes a short bit. The move will pause and CM shows busy. It would resume until you let up on the key and let it clear.
I assumed it was a hardware issue but when I open a terminal window the keys just keep scrolling away as long as I have it pressed. The touch screen does not have the is…
That was the tread I mentioned the issue in earlier.
I wonder if the jog dial would have the same issue.

Here is a video demonstrating that issue.
