Can you install Carbide Create V8 Beta and keep V7

Can you install Carbide Create V8 Beta and keep V7 loaded on the same PC?

Yes. On the same version i.e. v7 a newer v7 version overwrites the previous version. However installing v8 leaves v7 alone. So you can have both on your machine at the same time.

That may be true for Windows, but on a Mac, a newer v7 version does not overwrite older versions.

On a Mac, it is necessary for the user to manually rename one (or both) applications.

How do i roll back to a previous version?

If you have multiple versions installed, then you may choose to use whichever of the installed versions you wish.

If you uninstall a later version, then only the older versions will be available to choose from.

Every time I download a newer version of CC/CM I save the installer in my CNC_Router/Installer folder. Several times people here on the forum has requested an older version and I put it on my google drive with a link. You can always uninstall a version you dont want and install any version you archive. My Norton 360 backups my hard drive every day so if something goes wrong I can restore my files and would be back in business in a couple of hours.

I used to go to peoples homes and fix Apple computers. You dont know how many hard drives I had to replace and people had no backups. Backup often if your time and energy have any value to you. Today you can by Terra-byte usb drives relatively cheap and most OS’s have a builtin backup but things like Norton integrate backup and virus protection I often search for free images on google and Norton keeps me from going to bad sites that are not what they report to be. Virus and other bad things live on the internet waiting for unsuspecting people to click on and ruin their day. Ransome ware is on the rise and software helps protect you.
