just got a new computer to run my shapeoko pro. installed both create and motion. i’m able to communicate and initialize the machine and get it to home at my zero. when i send a project over from create, it wont execute the code, or only partially execute. any help?
Can you share the file? If not can you make one that will duplicate the issue?
If “Send to Carbide Motion” won’t work reliably, let us know the specifics at support@carbide3d.com
Until it is resolved, just copy the files over normally using a network drive or other method.
i’ve been trying to contact support for the last 2+ hours with no luck
share the actual code that’s being sent from create?
also, all of the projects i’m trying to execute, work with the older version of create and my old computer. but the exact same files wont create the gcode to execute the project
Yes, the c2d file. I’ll see if I can open it in my motion. Also you can check to make sure that you have the right machine set up in motion. It can be easy to set up the wrong one sometimes.
city test 2.nc (1.0 KB)
its a drag engraving project
it seems like create isn’t generating complete gcode
Where is “Send to Carbide Motion” in Carbide Create? Or is this just in the Pro version? I do not see it in CC version 764.
you have to be connected to a cutter and have motion open
now, when i go into my old computer, and copy the program file of the old version of create, my new computer will execute the gcode perfectly. so, there’s a bug with the newest version of windows 11 and the latest build of create
ToneSlabs, I have Motions open and connected to CNC and have Create open. I still do not see how to send the file to Carbide Motion.
Note that this requires:
- granting permission for remote access to both apps
- a network setup (if CC and CM are on separate computers) which allows this communication
- CM to be running first
- CC to be able to find the CM instance
I have stated CM first and then CM. What menu in CC should this show up in? I do not see anything change. Bot CC and CM are on the same computer and CM is connected to a cutter.
Again, is this a Pro thing only?
If they are on the same machine why not just open the file in CM directly?
Mine are on different machine, but I have a directory on the CM machine mounted to the CC machine so I can drag and drop and then go downstairs and open the file.
What are you hoping to get from the the Send to CM? Just a slightly smoother workflow?
Might be worth just installing an older version of CC on your new computer and see if it generates the proper codes for you. I would imagine that should solve the issue for now.
I guess I don’t really gain anything. I just saw the thread and was trying it.
