My Nomad 3 Z axis stopped working so I lubricated w with SuperLube (can’t find that Vactra Oil #2 in Canada). It still won’t move when I initialize the machine, just makes that horrible sound. I am able to slide it manually when the machine is off, though I would say I need to put some force into it. What else can I do/check? I have lubricated both the threaded rod as well as the steel cylinders. It doesn’t appear to have anything blocking it, I did a good vacuum of everything.
Perhaps pull the stepper motor off and see if it rune freely?
Did you by chance turn the machine off and back on? I know… stupid question. Once back on I initialize again. But that often resolves any issues with mine
i guess if one of the two stepper phases were disconnected you might get a buzzing noise without movement.
I would disconnect the antibacklash block and see if the z plate slides freely. unfortunately to do thias you do have to remove the spindle.
Have you tried moving the machine all the way to the bottom, then back up to the top, then to the middle by turning the screw?
