Carbide #302 and RC-1148

Hey all, I’m new to this group and I had a really quick question. I was wondering if I set my file up using the carbide 302 bit would there be any issues using the RC-1148. Would I have to change my settings? I haven’t had any luck with settings for the 1148 and I need to get a quick project done. Appreciate the help.

Yes, the same settings should work (Carbide Create at least doesn’t seem to use # of flutes or flute length for V carves) — better to use a #302 as a template and get # of flutes and so forth correct for the endmill.

I’d suggest looking at toolpaths and feeds and speeds first though — there’s no reason for a #302 not to make a good cut with appropriate feeds and speeds. Try the testing technique: https://www.precisebits.com/tutorials/calibrating_feeds_n_speeds.htm
