Carbide 3D VFD spindle on all the time

Hi there,
I’m having some odd issues with the VFD spindle, as it starts running at max RPM the moment my Shaepoko pro is powered up, and m3 and m5 commands appear to have no effect.
The only two options to stop the spindles are either disarm it from the enable button or press the stop button on the VFD controller.
I’ve already tried re setting the configuration and went as far as reflashing the firmware via the firmware updater, but no lack so far.

Any clue on what might be going on?

While doing some tests, I noticed that the PWM pin is stuck at 3.7v, and $31 is properly set to 0

For such issues I think your best bet is contacting Carbide3D support if not done already. Last December I had to send mine in but in my case the spindle would not spin up and they had to replace some electronics inside the VFD. They’ll help you troubleshoot if it’s a VFD or main controller board issue.

Yep I’ve already sent them an email, my spindle was out for replacement already couple of months ago, and it took 3 weeks to get it back so I was hoping to avoid the trip, but looks like there is no way around it :disappointed:
