Carbide 400 series won't launch on Mac

I’m trying to use one of the new Carbide 400 series but nothing happens when I try to open the app. No launch screen, no menu, etc. The latest Carbide 300 series opens just fine.

The app icon does appear in my dock and I am able to force quit but never get beyond that point.

It’s working fine on my laptop at home (Mojave) which is weird because I use Mojave at work as well.

Does anyone know how to clear the Carbide Create data directory so I can try to launch a fresh copy?

I’ve had the same problem for several weeks. This was just fixed today, here is what I did at Rob’s direction.

Put you Carbide Create in the trash can ( I deleted ecery instances of CC I had (V3XX and E4XX);
In finder press Option the click on Go in the menu bar;
Go to library:
Access the /Preferences folder

  • Delete the com.carbide3d… .plist files and the Carbide 3D folder
  • Re-install, and everything works

Hopefully it will work for you too.

I’ve had similar problems on Windows and deleting the preferences:

C:\Users\<shortusername>\AppData\Local\Carbide 3D

fixed it.

Thanks, that did the trick for me. Didn’t even have to uninstall and re-install the app!
