Carbide Create 757 missing material options

I have CC, build 757, on my office pc and the laptop in the shop that’s hooked up to the 5P.

The build on my office pc gives me the “Material” option for Birch ply. Yet out in the shop, that one doesn’t have an option for Birch.

The Job options for Material and Machine in Carbide Create no longer do anything beyond serving as a reminder.

Baltic Birch plywood should cut well on the Hardwood settings.

@WillAdams I have often wondered the best setting for hardwood plywood. The hardwood setting would be best I guess because it is still hardwood only in layers.

The real options for the hardwood is in the tool selection. There are tools for both softwoods and hardwoods.

When selecting the tool you can pick from Hardwood, All, Any, Aluminum, Hard Plastic, Soft Plastic, Softwood and MDF. Each tool database has F&S for that particular material.

As Will stated most of the parameters in the Job Setup are there from legacy settings and are no longer relevant. Now the material and those settings are still relevant. Just the machine type and material do nothing. In earlier days those had meaning but have long since been useless.

Thanks for the response. I’m not having any issues with CC. Just passing on the info. I just happened to notice it and found it odd that the same build of CC had the discrepancy across two pcs.
