Yes, the files are transferable between Mac and PC.
Note however that font usage may be an issue if the same font, in the same version, with the same metrics does not exist on both computers (this can even be a problem without moving between OSs)
See:

for one way to deal with this (or you can just only use the âCCâ fonts which are bundled with Carbide Create).
Or OUTLINE the letters before carving. Be sure to take note of what font you are using before outlining. You cannot go back on that operation.
In CC, that operation is now called âConvert to Curvesâ. As you say, it is not reversible, and you canât edit the text as text once it is done.
You may also need to share your tool database if you have changed or added tools.
Actually, there are two separate operations, with slightly different results.
Convert to Curves as described at the link:
results in a direct conversion:
with curves:
but note that it does not resolve any overlaps:
which would need to be dealt w/ using Boolean operations or (ideally) Trim Vectors.
Outlining (using the âOffset Vectorsâ command):
and be done with a very small dimension:
and will resolve overlaps
but will result in a polyline:
which is essentially uneditable.
