Carbide Create - How do I basically add a custom tab to hold a floating section secure?

I have a logo to cut out with a hand in it. There are a couple of fingertips that have a fingernail “line” that would remain but is not attached to the main section of the logo.

I have tried tinkering with the Boolean weld/intersection/etc options and I can’t quite figure out how to do it.

I just need a tab that is maybe half the material thickness in height, to remain and keep the fingernail line in place.

You will need to duplicate both pieces of geometry:

Then draw in something to connect them:

Union this with the inner geometry, then punch the new geometry out of the outer geometry, or use Trim Vectors:

Delete everything which is not needed:

until one arrives at:

OK

OK

Then assign two separate toolpaths:

which previews as:

Attached.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I appreciate the time and effort spent to provide the similar example!
