Hello all, after several months of learning my Shapeoko 5 Pro, I have upgraded to the the Carbide Create Pro version of the software. I have my first 3D project programed and ready to go. However; while setting up the feeds and speeds for my new bit :
( Ultra-High Detail 3D Carving Taper Ball Nose Bit For CNC Routers, 1/4 Shank)
When you create a custom tool it creates a .csv file. You can open that file in a spreadsheet and edit the numbers you want. Here is an example of one of my custom tools. If you drag the bar at the bottom all the way to the end there are 3d parameters. You can modify those anyway you want. When saving be sure to save as a .csv file. CC cannot read spreadsheet native file formats.

In my example above my 2d and 3d parameters are the same because I dont think I will be using those tools for 3d work.
To access the .csv file open CC. Then About and Open data directory. Under the CC folder there is a tools folder and that is where custom tools are stored. Simply open the custom tool database you created under CC. Since CC is open after you save the database it will not find it in its modified form. You must quit CC and reopen for CC to use the new and/or modified tool database. Not sure why but maybe the custom tool databases are only read during opening of CC. Whatever reason you must restart CC to get the new/modified database to be used.
