Like @beep_beep_morales noted, the desktop version of that is what I use, yes.
For what’s it’s worth, I am working through the following free tutorials for Fusion:
I am finding them very helpful, and he explains things in a way that a beginner can understand, often discussing the theory of why he is doing something, not just issuing instructions.
I actually paid for his advanced courses but haven’t started them yet.
I have that installed already and it is a big jump in complexity, but it has the features I need to bring my basses to the next level with the Loft function.
Will, is there a good “official” video tutorial on textures?
There is:
https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/create/toolpaths/
but I’m not seeing anything specific at:
Usually folks just experiment until they arrive at a 3D preview which suits their needs.
There was:
(but it’s a collection of forum posts, not a video)
Thanks.
I’m at a 3 steps forward 2 steps back impasse with Woodgrain. I got what I want but it’s too shallow and the paint roller hits the grain when going over it. As I go deeper things get screws up. Training with Tyler tonight to see if we can get beyond it, else doing a deep dive into textures to see what I can come up with.
Wish me luck!!
My version is V Carve pro or desktop a dozen times more tools on the V Carve, actually had fun using it, also tried the Aspire it as well had way more tools load up send to G Sender this program works much easier than Car. motion. You can download all of those programs for free. Download from Vetric. I work with car create version. 8 Pro. dont like it compared to the others above. Try them.
Would using a version of a rubber stamp roller work perhaps? It should stay rigid and only roll on the tops of the wood grain.
Actually, Tyler gave me the tools I needed. Produced my fist sign start to finish with woodgrain today.

Paint today and tomorrow, deliver Monday. That is the end game I’ve been heading towards. Now…the world opens up on the other side.
Awesome! Now lets see it!
Installed today. Billed today. Another 8 waiting to get done!
A few small tweaks. ALWAYS there are tweaks! But beyond this bottleneck!!
Looks great. Is that PVC or HDU?
It’s HDU and thank you!
I haven’t tried that yet. Still looking for a local source.
Very, very nice! Excellent finished look. Good job.
Yeah…I live in the boondocks (1 1/2 hr away from any city) so I’m driving that distance for my “local” pickup. The bane of living and working in a resort town. (I’m the worker, not the high end “liver”.) HDU is easy to work with, a somewhat tender but sturdy, the go to for almost all 3d signs these days. 1 and 1/2"x4’x8’ sheet runs around $600, but I can make 55 of these signs out of it at $300 a pop. And that’s VERY low end for these signs. So I pay for it in two signs. Obviously there are other costs (including the learning curve it’s taken me to get to this point!!).
If you zoom in to the fist pic I posted of the sign you can see the “texture” of the HDU.
Thanks pal!
Nice $300.
I either need your marketing skills or your market😀
Zero marketing skills…just finding where the need is and filling that need.
Here we were paying over $400/ sign. Quality, communication, and timeliness (if I have those three I will pay well!) were getting worse and worse. So we decided to step into that need by offering those three, PLUS a better price. Once we start pulling in a large part of the local market, then we will increase cost to get closer to matching others cost. If volume gets significantly more, then we can “hire” another CNC. It’s such a great business, the CNC sign making business!! Easy to expand and contract without relying on the horrible hiring place we are in right now.
Are you using an outdoor latex or oil based paint, or is it something that binds to the plastic?
