I had my machine doing a several hour run, at some point carbide motion must have crashed because when I checked on it the program was closed and my machine had stopped mid run.
Has this happened to anybody else? Might just be a rare fluke.
The answer to you question is maybe. Some files that are quite large make CM crash. You may want to split up very large files into more than one tool path. Even if you are using the same tool it may help. There has been a lot of development of CM and CC lately and although some of the versions are “Stable” when you have a lot of changes sometimes software has unpredictable results.
So start with splitting up your tool paths into smaller chunks if possible.
Sometimes the crash can be hardware related such as memory allocation or other glitches that are not repeatable. I would discount your hardware but it is possible.
