Carbide motion connect

Today I am unable to connect to carbide motion. I checked all connections I restarted several times I was using carbide motion 649 upto yesterday because I was unable to connect I downloaded carbide motion 653 but still unable to connect. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks Tom

First thing to try is to unplug the machine from the wall and the computer and wait 30 minutes or so.

While doing that, shut down your computer, then restart it and verify that there are no pending updates — if need be, restart again.

Also check all the wiring and so forth on the machine to ensure that everything is secure and all wires are in good condition.

Then, plug back in and power up — do the motors lock?

Connect to the computer, does it register as a USB device? Do you have a different computer or at least USB port to try?

If that doesn’t work and you’re under warranty, check in at support@carbide3d.com and let them know that you’ve tried all the above (so we don’t ask you do it again) and send in an overall photo of your machine and detail photos showing how everything is plugged in and we’ll do our best to assist.

If all that doesn’t work and you’re not under warranty, probably you need a new controller — they’re in the shop for SO3/4/Pros/Nomads:

check in w/ support if you have any questions.

Every now and then with my setup my CM will not see the spindle, all I do is unplug the USB to the controller and it picks it back up.

I had this same issue this morning and it took me unplugging/plugging-in the USB to the controller.
