Carbide Motion Crashed

Carbide Motion build 564 crashed about 2/3 through a gcode file on Windows 11. I haven’t had this problem before. Is there a crash file I can attach? What else can I provide that might help?

Okay, this may be related to my new laptop screensaver/power management being enabled when it’s on battery but not power, and I only had the laptop on battery when running this job. It happened again and I saw the screensaver/low power mode kicked in and the laptop was sleeping. Does CM stop running when that happens? But, when I woke up the laptop, the CM window was there and then it disappeared. Maybe there’s also another issue.

I had the same thing happen to me today. Using Carbide Motion with a c2d file from Carbide Create build 719. Not sure if it has any relevance but at the time of the crash the CNC was doing a Vcarve on some arched text. I also noticed that the CNC had stopped and was in a holding pattern and my screen saver had darkened the laptop screen. Tapping on the keyboard showed that Carbide Motion was no longer running.

As a new CNC owner it was a little scary wondering if I was going to do the right thing to recover this project in the middle of a carve. I was able to complete the carve after resaving the gcode after disabling the parts that had already been completed.

I restarted the job after visually verifying XYZ. It wasn’t a long job so cutting air for a while wasn’t a big deal. My gcode was generated with VCarve. It was good you were able to finish yours.
