I’m hoping someone can help me with a small issue I’m experiencing in Carbide Motion on my 5 Pro. No matter what project I run, Carbide Motion always tells me to set the router speed to dial 5 and 24,000 RPM.
I double‑checked multiple projects in Carbide Create and confirmed that the bit RPM is set to 18,000, but Carbide Motion still ignores it and shows the same 24K message every time. I’ve seen older threads about this issue going back to 2023, but I haven’t been able to find a clear solution.
This only started happening after I updated to the latest patch this weekend. Is this a new bug, or is there something I should adjust in my settings?
This has been reported from the last several versions of CM. I seldom change my router speed from 18000 RPM so I just ignore the 24000 RPM when the dialog comes up. Not sure why C3D has not fixed this because it has been in CM for a while.
Thanks for the responses! Hopefully they fix it soon. It’s a small issue if you already know your speeds, but during tool changes it’s really handy to see the RPM without having to open Carbide Create and dig into the toolpath.
Please check in w/ the folks at support@carbide3d.com — if they can’t solve it, then we need to track the folks who are having this difficulty and see if we can work out what causes it and how to fix it.
Just a quick update. I recieved info back from the Carbide Support Team. They are currently tracking this issue and are working on a resolution in a future Carbide Motion update.
Just wanted to relate that I’m also having this issue. And it only started happening when I updated to the latest versions of Motion and Create. I’m also using a 5 Pro.
