Carbie Motion 636 Bounds Check

Hi All,

Ever since I installed the latest version of Carbide Motion, I seem to need to adjust the Z zero position after I switch my Nomad off.

Luckily, when I start a cutting program, it warns me of the z height issue and I manually zero it out every time but it is frustrating to have to do it so often.

Could someone explain if I’m doing something wrong?

Many thanks,
Gunter

What size stock are you using? How is it secured?

Where/how are you setting zero relative to it? Using what length endmill?

Could you show a photo of the machine at the origin relative to the stock at the zero position (or a specified offset from that position)?

While the machine is at the zero position, click on “Position” in Carbide Motion to toggle to “Machine Position” and send us a screengrab showing the coordinates of the zero origin specified relative to the machine homing origin.

Hey Will,

My stock is a sheet of brass, 1.5mm thick, 100 x 50mm. It is secured by super glue double sided tape.

The red dot is my xy zero:

and to zero my z, I measure it from the top of the brass plate.

I don’t see a ‘Position’ option:

Hope this helps.
Gunter

Click on “Position” in the upper left corner.

(and post a photo of the machine showing it at the origin, and either upload your .c2d file or post a screengrab of Job Setup)

To take a pic, I was trying to move it to zero after the machine was off, again, and it lost it’s original zero setting and so I get this:

Now I need to start over…
