Hello All, I started out with a Shapeoko 3 and within a year upgraded to a 4’ x 4’ 5 Pro. Everything has been going great until I upgraded to Build 636 and i am not sure if its user error or the software. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated. The issue is that the machine goes through all setup and cuts the first toolpath which all is good. It then goes to the left front corner and just sits. No pop ups for tool changes or anything. I am not sure if this was one of the steps that Carbine Motion streamlined and i am supposed to do something? The previous Build the spindle would lift and go to the bit setter and a pop up would say to change the bit and it would measure it and return to work. Thanks in advance.
Could it be that you are “send to CM” from CC? There have been issues with that process. I thought they had been addressed.
Previously, if you sent to CM from CC, only part of the file went. A work around was to load the file in CM as done previously.
Good Luck
Did you configure for a BitSetter in the Setup Wizard?
That was the first thing that I did after installing the download. In the morning I will reinstall the download along with adding a new machine.
Two things.
1, If you still have your SO3 and use the same computer for both machines you have to run configuration each time you move to the other machine. CM remembers the last machine you configured and that could cause issues. Just run configuration when you move from the SO3 to the SO5 and vice a versa. If running the SO5 and start the next day after power off on the SO5 there is no need to run configuration. Only when you move from one machine to the other.
- The next thing to check is your post processor in CC. They have changed the behavior in the newer CM so if your post processor is not set to Shapeoko the machine does not know what to do for the second tool path.
Update too pervious issue. Got up this AM and downloaded Build 636, reinstalled on PC and ran a small sample project. Machine ran very good with pop-ups between toolpaths and ran to the Bit Zero for each. Guess i did something wrong the first go around but thanks for the feedback.
